2002 House Bill 5674 ↩
House Roll Call 307:
Passed
To concur with the Senate-passed version of the bill, which was substituted to realign the boundaries of probate, district, and circuit court boundaries in the more sparsely-populated northern part of the state, in order to ease the operation of Family Courts. These courts consolidate all family matters (such as child custody and support) in a single court, handled by a single judge court staff, including matters which might otherwise be divided among different types of courts. In the northern part of the state multi-county probate and district court boundaries do not coincide with circuit court boundaries. These would be adjusted to coincide. See also the Senate-passed versions of House Bills 5112 and 5109, which include pension enhancement proposals for certain judges and for state employees.
