2001 House Bill 5556 ↩
House Roll Call 859:
Passed
To authorize an increase in the number of trout streams designated by the Department of Natural Resources, from 100 miles to 212 miles of stream. In official trout streams the department prescribes which lures or baits may be used, and the size and number of fish that may be taken. The bill would require any trout stream in Wayne County to be designated as trout streams, and would require the department to adopt criteria for determining which other trout streams should be designated. The bill was amended to allow children under 12 to keep at least one fish, regardless of the catch limits in that area, except for sturgeon, but they could not use live bait. The bill is no longer tie-barred to House Bill 5431.
