To require sexual offenders who are employed by or students at institutions of higher education to report their status to the local law enforcement agency or sheriff’s department having jurisdiction over the campus. The bill was amended to insert a statement of legislative intent to the sex offender registration act (SORA), as one response to a recent federal court ruling which prohibits posting of the sex offender list in public.
