2002 House Bill 5642 ↩
Senate Roll Call 575:
Passed
The Senate version of the FY 2002-2003 Department of Agriculture budget. This appropriates $97.9 million in adjusted gross spending (funded from all sources, including special state restricted fund and federal pass-through dollars, minus interdepartmental transfers), compared to $88.8 million, which was the FY 2001-2002 amount enacted in 2001, excluding any supplemental appropriations. Of this, $50.8 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the current year’s $43.7 million. The Senate version adds $3 million for an Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory at MSU, $4 million to the Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service, $4 million for an Agricultural Experiment Station at Michigan State (see S-1 substitute description for more additions). The total increase is $12.9 million in gross funding, $10 million general fund, above the executive recommendation.
