Senate Roll Call 776:
Passed
To authorize an alternative energy renaissance zone dedicated to the support, research, development, enhancement, and manufacturing of alternative energy technology, with a duration of renaissance zone status for no more than 20 years, located on four parcels of state-owned land located in York Township (Washtenaw County) comprising approximately 724 acres, which previously had been used for hospitalization of mentally ill patients. The tax benefits of locating in the alternative energy renaissance zone would only be granted to companies that directly promote and increase the research, development, and manufacturing of alternative energy technology.
