2003 House Bill 4857 ↩
House Roll Call 352:
Passed
To increase the penalties a city can impose for the crime of driving while intoxicated, and require them to be consistent with state law. House Bill 4247, which lowers the threshold for drunk driving offenses from a blood-alcohol-content (BAC) of .10 to .08 per 100 milliliters of blood, and creates a new “high BAC” drunk driving crime, imposes fines which are higher than the $500 maximum which local governments are allowed to impose. The bill would raise that maximum local fine for drunk driving case.
