To require the Department of Education and the State Board of Education to solicit input from a 14-member committee composed of school principals and school board members on revisions to teacher certification rules and new teacher mentorship practices. The Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader would each appoint five members, and the governor would appoint three. The final member would be a and a representative of the Department of Education. The state Superintendent of Schools would then be required to revise the rules in accord with the committee's recommendations.
