2003 Senate Bill 881 ↩
House Roll Call 749:
Passed
To correct the defect which caused the veto of Senate Bill 687, which would establish succession procedures in the event the county executive office of Oakland or Bay County becomes vacant due to death or resignation of the executive. The bill would require the county executives of Oakland and Bay Counties to appoint a chief deputy, and establish that if the county executive office becomes vacant due to death or resignation of the executive, the chief deputy will assume the office until until the county board of commissioners appoints a successor to the elected county executive, or until a special election was held.
