2003 House Bill 5173 ↩
Senate Roll Call 595:
Passed
To authorize up to 15 years in prison for injuring or causing death to a worker in a road construction zone, even if the underlying moving violation does not also have criminal penalties, but is one for which at least three drivers license points can be assigned. Under current law, a driver who causes death or injury to a highway construction worker is not subject to imprisonment unless the traffic law violation which caused the tragedy also has criminal sanctions.
