2003 House Bill 4358 ↩
House Roll Call 858:
Passed
To increase the maximum allowable length for a truck tractor, semitrailer and trailer, or truck tractor and 2 semitrailers, from 59 feet to 65 feet on all Michigan highways, rather than just on the 8,753 miles of "designated" highways (which include almost all major highways). Also, to revise the penalties on overweight trucks depending on whether a truck's total weight or the weight distribution to various axles exceeds legal limits, and to establish a sliding fee schedule depending on the amount of excessive weight.
