2003 House Bill 4340

Senate Roll Call 17: Passed

To ease the restrictions under some circumstances on how soon after retirement a retired teacher can teach while still collecting a pension, and how many years the person can then work in a school while still collecting a pension. The bill would also extend the latest retirement date which qualifies a school employee to be covered by an exemption to the law which places certain restrictions on the pension benefits of school retirees who become re-employed by a public school. Current law limits the amount that can be earned by a retired teacher working at a school without reducing the retiree's pension.
