To include nitrous oxide in the types of local anesthesia which a dental hygienist who has met certain educational requirements may administer. The dental hygienist must have completed a nitrous oxide course with lectures and clinical experience. The bill also allows a registered dental assistant, under direct supervision of a dentist or dental hygienist, to assist and monitor the administration of nitrous oxide analgesia if the registered dental assistant has completed the training course.
