To change the deadline for a person to declare their intent to be a write-in candidate from 4:00 p.m. on the Friday immediately before an election to 4:00 p.m. on the second Friday before the election (from four days ahead of time to 11 days ahead of time). Under current law, unless a declaration of intent is filed, a vote for a write-in candidate is not counted.
