Senate Roll Call 301:
Passed
To create a new state Bureau of Fire Services and transfer the powers and duties of the state fire marshal to the new bureau. This and related bills would place all state programs and activities related to fire fighting and prevention under a single bureaucracy. Currently these are scattered among various state agencies and departments. Also, to prohibit local fire departments from charging a fee for inspections of farms that may be required under the federal Superfund law.
