2007 Senate Bill 799 ↩
House Roll Call 538:
Passed
To appropriate $20 million from the Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps Endowment Fund to the General Fund as a measure to close the gap between expected Fiscal Year 2007-2008 revenue and spending in other areas of state government. This would have the effect of essentially ending this Depression-era program, which now pays some 18-to-25 year olds minimum wage to perform certain support activities in state parks. The bill does require the Department of Natural Resources to seek other ways (such as corporate sponsorships) to extend the program.
