To require the state to provide health insurance to the surviving spouse and children under age 18 of a law enforcement officer who is killed in the line of duty which is comparable to the insurance the officer had in life. The bill is retroactive to include any public safety officers who were killed in the line of duty after Oct. 1, 2003, and whose department did not provide this benefit to survivors.
