2007 Senate Bill 222 ↩
Senate Roll Call 269:
Passed
The Senate version of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2007-2008 Department of Agriculture budget. This appropriates $109.6 million in gross spending, compared to $113.6 million, which was the FY 2006-2007 amount enrolled in 2006, and $105.3 million proposed by Gov. Granholm (see Senate Bill 246). Of this, $28.8 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the FY 2006-2007 amount of $30.9 million; $21.2 million comes from federal sources; and the balance from other state levies and fees. Like other Senate budgets this one would require the department to reduce administrative costs by 1.2 percent, however it includes funding for several programs and grants that Gov. Granholm recommended cutting or reducing.
