2008 House Bill 6252 ↩
House Roll Call 736:
Passed
To require a health facility or agency that applies for state government approval to open, acquire or expand a nursing home to disclose the names, addresses, principal occupations, and official positions of all “control persons,” and require all items of noncompliance to be resolved before a license is issued. This and related bills were introduced after the Carlyle Group company's acquisition of 28 Michigan nursing homes previously owned by Manor Care Inc., which has been opposed by the Service Employees International Union.
