2009 House Bill 4239 ↩
House Roll Call 10:
Passed
To waive the interest charged to employers whose laid-off employees have received more unemployment benefits than the firm paid in as state unemployment tax. The federal "stimulus" package waives the extra interest payments through 2010, and this bill would make Michigan law conform with that. The bill would also to require the Michigan employment security commission to provide case information to legislators or other agents acting on behalf of a constituent seeking assistance with the system.
