2009 Senate Bill 785 ↩
Senate Roll Call 467:
Passed
To not return the wetland regulation permit program to the federal government, as proposed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm as a cost saving measure. Michigan is one of just two states that have been delegated by Washington to manage and enforce federal wetland regulations. The bill would make various revisions prohibiting regulations from exceeding federal definitiions, streamlining their administration, and also authorizing clearing vegetation from certain Great Lakes beaches.
