To add “maximizing natural resource-based economic activity and recreational opportunities” on state land to the mission of the Department of Natural Resources, in addition to its current mission to “protect and conserve” natural resources; and revise details of the DNR's sale of surplus state land. The bill would also establish term limits of two four-year terms on individuals appointed to the state Natural Resources Commission, and generally transfer authority over the DNR from this commission to the governor.
