2011 House Bill 4838 ↩
Senate Roll Call 969:
Passed
To authorize a multi-state compact that would give the state and local governments the power and discretion to enter into mutual aid agreements with governments in another state for coordination of communications, training, and response to emergency events that pose “an immediate risk to health, life, property, or the environment.” The relevant licenses and certifications of emergency responders in each compact state would be valid in all if one state requests help, and “good Samaritan” liability exemptions would also apply. The bill states that this compact would exist alongside a very similar agreement authorized by 2001 Senate Bill 715 and House Bill 5189. Those became a law that applies exclusively to states.
