2015 House Bill 5106 ↩
Senate Roll Call 532:
Passed
To revise the current legal authority of the Governor to activate the Michigan National Guard. Current law lists specific reasons to call up the Guard, and the bill would add a general provision allowing this “in support of the full-time operation of the state military establishment.” Guard members would not have police or arrest powers under this new provision. Also, to designate the Governor as the commander-in-chief of the Michigan National Guard, rather than of the "organized militia".
