To require drug treatment courts to be certified by the state court administrative office. Drug treatment courts impose drug treatment requirements and restrictions on offenders in a non-adversarial process. The bill would also revise the definition of "violent offenders" who are prohibited from drug courts so that some individuals with prior convictions or charged with gun offenses could participate.
