2018 House Bill 6374 ↩
Senate Roll Call 939:
Passed
To amend the state Drain Code to incorporate recommendations made by the Department of Agriculture and a state Association of County Drain Commissioners intended to create consistency in the procedures used by county and intercounty drain authorities. The Drain Code prescribes the establishment, funding and maintenance of a system of land drains (ditches and culverts), without which farming and habitation in large areas of the state would not be possible. This bill would require that a proposed drain’s route and course be specified in the plans approved and adopted by county and intercounty drain boards, with any subsequent changes also approved. This is part of a package comprised of House Bills 6374 to 6377.
