To impose a registration mandate on “medication aides” in nursing homes and similar facilities, with requirements that an applicant work as a nurse’s aide for at least 2,000 hours in a nursing home, pass a state-approved course and test, and more. “Medication aide” is defined as a person who administers “regularly scheduled medications to residents of a nursing home or skilled nursing facility while under the supervision of a registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurses”.
