To impose a premium tax and an extensive regulatory regime on “travel insurance.” The bill would add emergency evacuation, repatriation of remains and indemnification of other travel-related contingencies to the current statutory definition of travel insurance, and would also extend an existing business income tax levy on insurance premiums to this type of insurance.
