2021 House Bill 4031 ↩
Senate Roll Call 4:
Passed
To reduce the penalty for an employer who fails to report a death or very serious injury if this occurs on a family farm or within a family business. Employers are required to report a workplace death or injury within 24 hours and are subject to six months in jail and $10,000 fine for failure to do so. The bill would lower this to just a $500 fine if the event occurs on a family farm or to family member of an owner-operated business. The bill would also extend the report deadline to one week in these cases.
