To expand the parking offences that a local government may use volunteers to enforce. Currently they can enforce handicap parking and firelane violation. The bill would allow them to enforce these additional things: parking on a sidewalk or crosswalk, in front of a public or private driveway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, parking where an official sign prohibits stopping, parking or restricting the period of time. The bill would also require all parking enforcement volunteers to get at least 40 hours of training by the local police or sheriff.
